I lie Premier added that the public would he afforded an opportunity to subserilw. A MOTOR TRAGEDY. SYDNEY, July 29.
A motor car containing nine passengers. including three sailors from the I'.S.A. warship “Mississippi” crashed over an embankment twenty feet high, near Wiseman’s Ferry. Haw kes bury River. It. turned several somersaults and fell on to the rocks below. Mrs Weston of Fitzgerald Lakes, was pinned underneath, and was killed instantly. Mrs l.aw of Sydney, wife of the driver, and Quartermaster Mulkey of the “Mississippi” were serious injured The others were slightly hurt.

AUSTRALIAN M EAT COUNCIL SYDNEY. July 30
A meeting of the Australian Meat Council resolved that the amount of tin- levy to lie struck on the stockholders for purposes of the Council he three farthings per head on cattle and one-eighth of a penny on sleep. Another resolution empowers the Council to approach the overseas shipping companies with a view to having the shipping freights on meat reduced to the same level as those for Now Zealand.
