MR HOLLAND’S TOUR. TIAIARU, .March 11. Air H. E. Holland, Leader of the Parliamentary Labour Party, addressed a meetng of 500 |>eople here to-night. He dealt chiefly with the land question. He strongly condemned the political policies of the Reform and Liberal Parties.

After detailing the Labour Parly’s policy, lie said it was the only one which would promote the best interests of the masses of the Dominion. The coining election was going to be the most important in the history of the Dominion. As a result of it Labour would become the official Opposition, and the time was not far distant when the Labour Party would occupy the Treasury Benches.

The meeting, which was very orderly gave the speaker a sympathetic hearing and accorded him a hearty vote ol thanks.

THE MACKENZIE CASE. AUCKLAND, March 11. In the- Dunclas AlacKenzie case, further evidence was given by patients in cases where it was alleged a wrong diagnosis of cancer was given by AfaeKenzic. Evidence was also given regarding the sending of samples of lambs’ and .donkeys’ blood to Al.acKciyde. In his diagnosis of one sample of donkey’s blood, AlacKenzie said “ The time is approaching when treatment would be useless.” FINED £IOO. WELLINGTON, -March 11. Reserved decision, was given by Mr Page, S.AI., in the Alagistrate’s Court to-day in the ease in which the police proceeded against Carl Petersen Lindegreen, of Featlierston Street, Secretary of the Dominion Sportsmen’s Association. Two charges alleged that he had printed documents containing statements as to dividends paid on investments on the totalisator at the races at Palmerston North on the 20th and 30th of December. Further charges set out that on the 31st December, at Nelson, the defendant did aid, assist, counsel and procure Alfred George Clements in the commission of an offence punishable by summary con vietion, in that Alfred George Clements, at Nelson on the 31st December, did make a bet of 10s upon the result of the AVairarapa Cup, run at Tnlierenikau on the Ist of January, 1925, he (Clements) agreed to pay to Victor Robert Hawkes, tlie other party to the bet, should lie win, the same sum of money the amount of which would he dependent upon the result of the working of the totalisator on the race.” The Afagistrate said ho was of opinion that defendant should he convicted and he imposed the maximum penalty of £IOO.
