General Derivcra and other members of the Directory have decided to go to Tetuan to consider the military position. LONDON. Sept. 5. The Tangier correspondent ol the •‘Daily Telegraph” says the news from To Ilia'll is serious. Following on a report that a garrison of four hundred surrendered at Oorguos, a column was despatched Ironi ’letuan. hut encountered a dense, accurate lire from the Moors, while ascending a track between the hills. It admitted ofliciallv that 75 were killed and one hundred wounded, while unofficially it is repotted that (’>!)!) are mi-sing. On the following dav the guns of the batteries at and near Tetuan heavily bombarded the hills across the plain, and the tronos advanced, only to retire. A small body of mountaineers aopronrhed Tetuan on Wednesday evening, and filed on the town wounding several eivilatis. and causing a panic. Another column, however, is being despatched to the relief of the Outgoes Garrison. POSITION IN .MOROCCO. (Received this day at 9.25 a.m.) A! ADR ID. Sept. 7. General dc Rivera has arrived in Tetuan. In a message he states the situation in .Morocco is slightly improved: but. according to an official communique, the Spanish have been compelled to evacuate two posts in the Western zone. The enemy continued hi* pros-ure. lint was linally repulsed. The Spanish losses are described as appreciable, "hut small as compared with the umortaiue of the engagement.
