THE GERMAN REPLY

Well informed circles in Ixjndon con. sider the German reply generally satisfactory though it seems impossible to agree, to proposals that the work of control finish by Sept. 30th.

According to the “Echo de Paris”, the first version of the text of the German reply to the Allied Note handed to the Charge d’Affaires at Berlin, contained three reservations mentioned in the forecast of June 30. The Eernch Charge d’AlFaires immediately declared it was nnaccepable and subsequently M. Daberuon supported his protest, and the experts in Paris urged the reply should lie rejected. The German Government then revised the Note, not mentioning the reservations.
