The annual meeting of the West Coast Bowling Centre will be held at (ircymoiith on Thursday July 17th.. at 8 p.m.
In tlie Legislative Council on Friday feeling references were made to the death of the Hon. Charles Louisson. of Christchurch. The Leader of the Council, the Hon. Sir Francis P'
moved the customary resolution, and said very few had recognised that Mr l/iuisson had held a seat in the Council for a period longer than any other member of the Council except the Hon. John Mnefirogor. In private life, as in the Council Mr l/ouisson was greatly esteemed, and the tiuunillious expressions of regret when it was known he was tore, showed the regard in which he was held. The motion was seconded by the Tlon. ,1. (ii iinnmnd. "ho described Mr l.oiiissnu as a good business man, a good sportsman, and one who was in every v.ny a credit to the country of bis adoption. The Hon. Tt. Moore, in supporting the motion, said he knew of no mail who had taken a keener interest in the welfare uf Christchurch than Air l.ouisson. Tlie Hon. Mark Cohen also spoke of the good public services of Air fstttisson. who he said was a clean, wholesome “sport. The motion was passed.
