SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

ADJOURNED AIEETINGS OF HOUSEHOLDERS. AT HOKITIKA. Last evening at tho ’I own Hall, 20 persons were present when a second attempt was made to elect a Committee of nine. At tho annual meeting one person (Air It. J. Pedder) was nominated and elected. The Rev A. C. Purchas was voted to the chair, and announced that three additional nominations had been received, from Afessrs AV. Carter, H. R. Sweuey and R. Wells and these were declared also elected. An invitation lo nominate a further five members only drew two nominations. Rev J. Jack and Air J. Conning. It was resolved to forward these names on for approval by the Education Board. Tho meeting then terminated. THE NEW COAIAIITTEE. The new Committee then met. when Rev J. Jack- was elected Chairman, and All- AV. Carter, ■Secretary. It was reported that tho caretaker of the school (Air Rosevear) had resigned his duties and wished to he relieved of his duties at the end of the present month. The resignation was • accepted, and it was resolved that the Chairman and Secretary confer with the Rector and draw up a list of duties and then invite applications for the vacant position. Tt was resolved to meet at the Technical School on Monday next at 7 pan. to transact ordinary business. The meeting then terminated. This morning additional nominations were obtained to complete tlio nine members required viz: Afessrs T. A\ . Duff, AV. Goodfellow and AY J. Huseler.
