COST OF OCCUPATION
LONDON, July 15
Mr Baldwin in the Houso of Commons said that the total cost of the occupation of Constantinople was:— Armv £22,503,000, Navy, £6,000,000, and "Air Force £015,000. Under the terms of the peace treaty now being concluded at Lausanne such expenses will not be recoverable from Turkey, and the Government is unable to say whether Angora, lias yet approved of the draft terms.

Mr Baldwin, the Premier, in the House of Commons, informed Mr Ilamsav MacDonald (Leader of the Opposition) that tho Government’s reply to the German Note would be submitted to the United States before it was dispatched to Berlin.
