THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES.
The Financial Huhdkjc. Tlio fact remains that some cf the host industrial concerns in New Zealand are suffering through excessive taxation imposed only for war conditions, and continued (luring peace times, many years after the war is over to the grave detriment of the country. The unanswerable lavt remains that while Great Jiritniu has reduced her indebtedness by over £o00,110l),000, and appreciably reduced her war taxation, we have piled up debt by scores of millions, and substantially increased taxation in practically every term. 1 say this not in auger or from political motives, but out of my sincere anxiety for our country and those who live' in it. _J. G. WARD.
