In an address given to the British Medical Association in Glasgow recently. Dr John Mac-Curdy, of Cornell University Medical College, New York, said : “AA’heni a man is tired or oppressed with care, how can lie forget his obsessing anxieties with his self-con-sciou.snoK.s sufficiently to become .social!-' Tf ho is normal, a small amount, of alcohol will give relaxation. “Conviviality is more important for the maintenance of our mental stability than we realise. Innumerable people are made happier, and therefore, healthier, by mote-rate indulgence m alcohol.” Vet the Prohibitionists want to deprive you of this pleasant relaxation that helps to round off the hard corners of life.
