Alouetto has already married Bertrand BeauJiieu, lier father’s overseer, and does not know that it was Kurt whp caused Bertrand’s death. The years pass, and under Kurt’s care tlio vineyards prospea. No ono dreams that the Prussian overseer is even tlien preparing gun emplacements for German guns in the vineyards. When the war breaks out, Kurt returns to Germany, hut their son, in reality the son ot Alouetto and -Remind enlists in the French army. The Germans take the country and Kurt shows them the emplacements. Do Bonne is killed, but Alouetto is unmolested because she is the wife ot Kurt. For a time she is able to protect Fleurette, her son’s betrothed, hut not for long, and the poor girl is killed by her fiancee at her own request to save her from German, brutality. It is the harvest time of the devil', and both Fhicrette and Bertrand are gathered by the evil sowers. Ihe supports include a Christie comedy, Topical Budget and scenic. MoLEAtTS PICTURES. HI,SI E FKRGUSON—TO-NIGHT. A double star programme will he shown at the Princess Theatre tilis (Tuesday) evening. The main feature is “ Footlights,” a 7-reel Paramount, starring Elsie Ferguson. Dainty morning dresses, luxuriant gowns for morning, afternoon and evening, filmy negligees and daring spoilt costumes constitute her wardrobe in this splendid production. .Miss Ferguson, who has been termed the most beautifully dressed woman on the screen, considers this one of the most delightful roles of her career. The other feature is “ Nurse .Marjorie,” starring Mary MMes Min tor. j
