AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. JACK DEMPSEY. NEW YORK, Nov. 27 A Chicago message states that Jack Dempsey announced he has accepted the offer of AI. Wood, the New Yorktheatrical manager, for a mixed bout with “Strangler” Lewis, the wrestler, and fights with two boxers not yet named, ft is understood he will receive one million dollars for the three bouts. Marry Wills, . Willard, or possibly Beckett, are considered for (he other matches. The character of the contest with Lewis is not explained, hut it is believed if iroiild attract sporting interest, since a recent controversy arose as to which is the hotter means of defence—boxing or wrestling. Mr Kearns has indicated the match with Lewis would take place within three months.
