A doctor recently arrived, in New Zealand from England—via. U.S.A. was asked in the tram fho other day what he thought of prohibition. “Why,” said lie ‘‘New York is the best place in the world to get diunk in. The police there told me that if a man is intoxicated and looks as if h° can afford it, they don’t run him in—theiv take him to a hospital. Tins is done to keep down their records of drunk cases. AVoukln’t do to have too many drunks when they’re supposed, to be living under prohibition, would it?” . , , Prohibition in l .S.A. uns made Amenica ridiculous. Wo don’t want it.
