The Casa Santa, with nave and aisles of ci|ual height and a. transept with aisles, was begun oil the site ot 1 an earlier churelr in 1408. The lofty a dome is supported by eight pillars. Loreto is vjhere the house of the Virgin Mary is said to have miraculously fTransported to from Palestine.
