THE FAMOUS DIGGERS.

NEW REAL GIRL SHOW

PRINCESS THEATRIC, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY NEXT.

Chaperoned under .Jimmy Norton, a clever comedian producer, well known throughout America as “that London Boy,” the Famous Diggers new real girl show takes on a distinctiveness that makes it even more attractive than ever. After making a name for himself in England, Mr Norton crossed ••the pond” and did a vaudeville act throughout the Keif I I Orplicun. circuits in America and eventually joined Zoigfdd's Kellies big Root Garden show in New Work. His success was instantaneous and it was then people began to talk about him as “That London Boy,” a soubriquet which has stuck to him. He is undoubtedly one of the liest comedians and eccentric dancers ever seen in this country.

Among the old favourites of The Diners who still remain with the show are .Toe Vsilli, the famous Scottish comedian, Gus Dawson, the light comedian and dancer. Tano Kama, comedian and Stan laiwson, the Misleading Lady. The latter, who is going to take a big engagement in America next, year, will he with The Diggers for a few months longer when the public will have a chance of seeing him in both male and female characters. Stan is anxious to show that his histrionic ability covers a wider range than merely that of “misleading lady” and a surprise awaits the public in this direction. The ballet and chorus consisting ol •The Superb Six,” a very beautiful bevy of real girls, is calculated to set young men dreaming and everyone applauding. Their drosses should challenge comparison with the best, as an experienced theatrical modiste was brought over from Melbourne for the purpose of superintending the designing and making of them. There are dull, stilling, gloomy times which carry with them the groping tentacles of despondency, and a company such as The Diggers present, with its unlimited laughter, its glamorous scenes, its amazing dresses, its whirling, twirling dancing girls, its dazzling roseate spotlights and the lively bloodstirring lilts of a first class orchestra help us to forget that mortgages are mining due. that wool is not worth much, that troubles are near us or about ns, and for over two and a half hours we live in the realms of make-I believe enjoying ourselves with all our I might. Brilliancy is the keynote ot The Diggers’ new production. The new producer, like his predecessor, has u penchant for a fpiick programme wherein can he crammed smart items which follow each other so rapidly that patrons are astonished to find that the programme has taken two and three (piarter hours. Among items are “The Bride’s Trousseau,” a miniature musical comedy; “The Host C'ui;e” ((the hit of De Coalville’s London Revue ‘‘Pins and Neqdles”) ; “The Follies Fancy Dress Ball" in the Hoof Garden scene;

“Breaking into Gaol,” a real scream, “The Butterfly Ballet,” and a number of other items which serve to introduce thu latest song hits.
