The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. The Administration of Justice Bill and Settled Land Amendment Bill was read a second time pro forma and ■reDornid to 'tiho Statutes Revision Committee. The Swamp Drainage Amendment Bill was read a second time pro form and referred to the bauds’ Committee.

The Council assented to the ratification of Washington" Treaties. The Hutt Road Amendment Bill was put through the final stages and passed. The Animnls’ Protection and Game

Amendment Bill which seeks to prohibit trap pigeon shooting was read a third time, after a division on an amendment by Hon Dr Collins, that the Bill should he' read a third time

six months hence. The amendment was defeated by 17 votes to 4. The Council rose at -1.25 p.m.

THE HOUSE. Tho House met nt 2.30 p.m. The nftenioon sitting of tlio House whs occupied with formal business, including a discussion on answers given questions by Ministers. At the evening sitting the Justices of the Pence Amendment Bill, introduced by Mr AVilford was put through the Committee stage, read a third time and passed. The following Bills were read a second time:—Alotherhood Endowment Bill (Air Savage); State Control of Licenses Bill (Ah McCnllum) ; Fencing Amendment (Air Reed). j The House rose at 11 p.m. j
