AMUSEMENTS.

POLLARD’S PICTURES.

“THE BUIE MOUNTAIN MYSTERY.” Pollards presented at the Princess Theatre last evening a delightful picture. “The Blue Mountains Mystery,” which is one of the finest shown before a local audience. The photography was splendid and the whole of the presentation excellent. It is an Australian production and is easily one of the host efforts. Raymond Longford, who produced the picture for the Carroll theatrical firm, has introduced some

fine efleets. In no way has lie neglected the detail necessary to secure them. He reveals a proper sense of proportion in the continuity and arrangement of the scenes, which are made to follow each other in capital sequence. The story, too, which has been taken from Harrison Owen’s “Mystery of the Matungn,” is interesting throughout. It

contains many fine situations that are made much of by the writer of the scenario, and, there is a social element which adds to the attractiveness of the film. The mystery to he solved has been handled in such a way that it is not until towards the close of the play that the real surprise takes place. The production is in the hands of a strong caste and the scenery especially some of the mountain scenes, are very fine, the whole production being exceedingly enjoyable.

TO-NIGHT. “The Uliie Mountains Mystery” will he repeated to-night and patrons should take the opportunity of witnessing what is a first class picture. Two episodes of the serial “Hidden Bangers,” will also be shown to-night.
