Tiie House met at 2.30 p.m. The House at once continued consideration of the Retrenchment Bill, which proceeded until 12.30 a.in. when it passed the committee stage. Mr Wilford moved to recommit, the Bill for the purpose of reconsidering the position of those drawing lower salaries. This was defeated by 38 to 26. On iiie motion that the Bill be read a third time a division was taken, the motion being carried by 10 to 19.
