gratitude to those kindly folk "ho have unselhiblj offered their service; for the entertainment of the patients. On Monday evening the rain fell in blinding showers, but as the genial Air Davidson remarked—“ Scotsmen never tarn hack!” and so more than twenty of the Caledonians arrived at Seaview. The programme which followed was peraps the most brilliant and artistic ever • taged in the asylum, but from the patients’ point of view, the dancing of the “wee lassies” and Hie 1 Funnier” of he Pipe Band were the most enjoyable items of the excellent programme which vas as follows:— Flute solo, Mr Gibbons; Pipe Band, selection; Highland Fling, A lasses King, Mclntosh and Gibbous ami -Master L. Gibbons; musical trio. “La Hinka,” Airs Wilson, Aliss Wire ll and Air Carter; solo, “Comin thro’ the Rye,” Al.iss Pascoe; -recitation, “Miss Fosset,” Aliss Urquhart; “ftcel of Tulloclt” quartette; flute solo. Air Gibbons: solo, “Wait for the Sunshine,” Aliss Davidson; song and clog dance, “Air Baggy Breeches,” Alisses Gibbons and Mclntosh; musical trio, “The Knots’ Parade” ; solo, “W hen Von Come Home,” .Miss Shand; recitation.. “Susie,” Aliss Urquhart ; Sailor’s Hornpipe, Aliss Melba Gibbons; solo, •‘Calico Rag,” Miss Pascoe; Pipe Band selection ; “Auld Fang Syne,” National Anthem. Nurse Maefarlane contributed several graceful accompaniments. The Chairman in returning thanks, referred to the wonderful psychological benefits to the patients of such entertainments. Afterwards a dainty supper was given to the visitors hv the Nurses’ sub-committee.
