CORRESPONDENCE.
OH, BUTCHER. ! (Tu the Editor). Sir, —iA while ago a useless exores- 1 fence of that ponderous, harmful Government extravagance, the Board of Trade visitt*< 1 here and being very properly ignored as they should he, report- • ed that we had no complaints. 1 just wiyit to whisper in the ear of our butchers that because we do not run for help to an expensive Government Department with our complaints, we do not feel restive at the cost of our dinner meat. We are proud of our line butchers here, and none of us would j be willing to change places with them | to take on their long hours and hardj work, hut we will not submit to paying; Is a lb for mutton that in Christchurch | has been advertised for weeks past at 4d and (id. Our remedy will be not to whine to the Government, hut to offer ■ support to opposition, and my suggestion to our Irietrlr. is to do to-day "hat probably they intend to do next week —' cut prices before opposition starts. I , 1 am etc., ! R.WTLD. i
