The Australian Press Association interviewed Senator Lodge, who said: — My statement concerning the co-opera-tion of Canada, Australia and New Zealand with United States regarding Asiatic immigration, was merely a general Statement of policy, which I favour and the importance whereof I 4° not think can be over estimated. I believe such co-operation may be obtained, but have not yet considered or attempted to work out the details. The question is one which I hope will engage attention in the coming Congress and new administration. I am not prepared, at this time, to go any further into the details of. this very important subject. Mr Sheldon, commenting on Mr Lodgo’s interview said:—l learn this with pleasure. It will no doubt give satisfaction throughout the British Empire and the more of these understandings with United States on this and other matters the better pleased will members of tho Empire be.
