Jn the Commons Alfred Short suggested that British firms could.have used the Government owned New Zealand! greasy crossbred wool, {instead of South American bad tho Government been willing to sell New Zealand wool at market prices. Mr Hope replied that in view of tbe fact that considerable quantities of ~ South American wool were always imported into Britain, and imports for the first ten months of 1913, were fifty per cent greater than the corresponding period of 1920, there was no reason to suppose South American wools wer; displacing New Zealand to any material extent. POOR WOOL SALE.

(Received This Day at 10.35 a.m.) LONDON, Dec 7. The wool sales opened weak, and less than a quarter was sold at the Government reserves. Biddings for the remainder were ten to twenty per cent, below the last sale. I< OR CONSTANTINE. (Received This Day at 10.40 a.m.) ATHENS, Dec. 8. In the plebiscite unexpectedly a great majority .favoured Constantine. In only a few places were hostile votes cast. The result hitherto is ninety for cent, for Constantine. Three Venizelist dailies have ceased. I
