KOKATAHI NOTES
(From a Correspondent). < Prospecting in the coal area of Camelback is progressing very rapidly. In the near future enough coal will be produced to supply the district. Wednesday Ist Dec. a concert and ball is being held in Longford Hall to raise funds to repair St Aidan’s Church. A very fine programme is being prepared and as the object is such a deserving katahi bridge is badly in need of reone a bumper house is expected. Kokatahi bridge is badly in need of repairs. 'At night it is most dangerous for both pedestrians and cyclists. Back Creek bridge adjoining Graham’s has again been affected by the recent floods and has dipped a few feet. ’ This season bids to be a record one for the Kokathi Dairy Factory. More butter is being produced now than at the height of the season last year. Tho Kokatahi Racing Club are now contemplating improvements to the course and hope by January to have the course in good order. Measles and whooping cough are very prevalent in Koiterangi and lienee the attendances at the schools are suffering.
