Dr. Mjannix addressed numerous the provinces traversing familiar grounds. He alleged British misrule in Ireland, and made a plea fer self-determination the withdrawal of troops, but London newspapers ra*ely notice him. His only London gathering was the Bishop' of Portsmouth’s semi-pri.Yate .reception and this was scantily reported in London. The bitterness of Mannix’s speech, indicates the keenness of his disappointment at his treatment in England. The Australian Press Association learns that Hon. Lloyd George was agreeably furprised at the conciliatory nature of one of Dr. Mannix’s speeches in which he urged that Government make Ireland a friendly ally by conceding the right of self-Government. Mannix has not yri decided when he will visit Rome and has not made arrangements to return to Australia. Father Vaughan, his Secretary spent several weeks, in Ireland. .) .
