A HEART IN PAWN MONDAY.
Sessuc Hayakawa the famous Japanese aptor in tlie thrilling RobertsonCole emotional and tragic .story of a Japanese student married secretly to a pretty maid of his own country is told in the charming play “A Heart in Pawn.” The student husband sails a,Way to America to complete his studies. Sady his wife finds employment as a Geisha, girl, and shortly afterwards kills a rich Japanese who has assaulted her. A telegram reaches Toyama telling im that Sada is to suffer the sentence of death, having been guilty off the crime of murder. At the death of his friend and benefactor Dr Stone, ho fulfills a promise made to him by marrying his daughter. Upon his return to Japajn, he is invited to lecture to a group of women prisoners, among whom is his wife Sada. Recognising his husband Sada, escapes from the prison and finds her way to the old home in which Toyama has been living with his second wife, in ignorance of the fact that Sada still lives. The situation j(s further complicated by the discovery that ,a child which Toyama has taken into is home through charity is his own, born to him in the prison. The climax is a thrilling one. Mr Pollard has been fortunate in securing one of the best and. latest serials “Mystery of 13” so patrons are advised to look out for the opening chapter. On Wednesday next the star attraction will be Ta'ylor Tolmes in a big comedy entitled “Ruggels of Red Gap.”
