ADDITIONAL REVENUE
ALTERATION IN TELEPHONE SUBSCRIPTIONS AND CHARGES.
The Postmaster-General announces the following alterations in telephone subscriptions and charges will! come into force on the Ist August, proximo:
Each telephone exchange subseiber in the Dominion is to pay an additional £1 per annum per connection, and there is imposed an increase pf os per quarter mile for lines extending beyond the present maximum distances for which the initial rate is charged. The increase does not apply to current subscriptions due before Ist August. The scale of charges for toll communications is raised as follows: Up to twenty miles 6d for first three minutes, and 2d for each additional minute or fraction thereof; Up to 50 miles, 9d for first three minutes, and 3d for each additional minute; 75 miles, Is for first three minutes, and 4d for each additional minute ; Up to TOO miles, Is 6d first three minutes, and 6d each additional minute, 150 miles, 2s 3d for first three minutes, and 9d each additional minute; 200 miles, 3s first three minutes and Is each additional minute; 250 miles, 3s 9d first 3 minutes, and Is 3d each additional minute; 300 miles, 4s 6d first three minutes, and Is Gd each additional minute; 350 miles, 5s 3d first three minutes, and Is 9d each additional minute. 400 miles, 6s first three minutes, and 2s each additional minute; 450 miles, 6s 9d first three minutes, find 2s 3d each additional minute; 500 'miles,, 7s Gd first three minutes, and 2s 6d each additional minute. From subscribers speaking from their own telephones, half these rates up to 10 miles only. Night toll communications at half rates, available from 10 p.m. instead of 8 p.m.
