The strike settlement prospects are brighter. A restoration of electrical current for industrial purposes is now being effected. This is expected to considerably reduce (lie unemployed list. Tlie new development is that the individual employers’ are now adjusting their differences independently. They are thereby securing exemption from the workers’ “black list.” Negotiations are also commencing with a view to settling the gas dispute. The Chamber of Manufacturers’ Disputes Committee urges all employers to “ stick out,” and not use the power supplied hv the employers who have given in.
WIRELESS -MEN STRIKE. LONDON, June 19
In view of there being a wireless operators’ strike, the Board ot Trade is permitting vessels to sail without them, on condition that intending passengers are notified that operators are not carried aboard.
