POLLARD** pictures. MONDAY NEXT. At the Princess Theatre on Monday next, Pollards will screen ‘ r The Whirl of Life,” starring Irene and Vernon Castle, the world’s greatest dancers. Romance beckoned to them on the beach, and they met in the water. Irene fell in love with Vernon’s skinny legs, and on the beach they had their first dance, and afterwards instituted “The Castle Kiss.” Irene’s father was old-fashioned enough to decline to allow Iris daughter to marry a man whose brains were in liis feet, so they eloped to France, and were married, happy and broke all at the same time. A thrilling rescue by Vernon—a long chase—then from the sea came the two wonder-dancers, and in the magnificent ballroom they perform “The Castle Waltz,” “The Castle TwoStep,” “The Castle Pavanne,” and other dances that have made them famous. They lived happily ever after, until their happy romance was severed by war’s ruthless hand. The dances are executed in all their sinuous grace and variety.
