The engineers on the Federal State fleet of steamers desire to return to work under the new terms the State has offered. They are now endeavouring to obtain the Executive’s permission to resume.
The Victorian Marine Engineers re; gard the propose} to buy out the island fleet as being now frivolous. The executive lias now neither the money pop administartion to run any line of steamers. •
