It includes proposals for the abolition of State Governors and the Upper House, establishment of a scheme for child subsidy, regulation of prices, t.he> latter to include imprisonment of those guilty of profiteering, wheat production to be encouraged by guaranteeing the minimum price, which will he paid in full upon delivery, and the establishment of a rural hank empowered to issue bonds against mortgages. Mr Storey also intends to- nationalise monopolies, including coastal steamships and the ferry services, and the establishment ,of national industries, in which employees will participate ; hydro electrical, and decent realisation schemes are also included. MARINE ENGINEERS STRIKE. SYDNEY, This Day. Hon* W. M. Hughes, (Federal Prime Minister) states Government will make no further offer to the marine engineers, as the limit of concessions have been reached to the men. who now defy the law. The efforts of other unions affected to arrange a settlement have so far failed. RIFLE ASSOCIATION MEETING. SYDNEY, This Day. The Council of the Rifle Association of Australia has cabled an invitation on to the British team to visit the Commonwealth this year. A TRADE DISPUTE.
