MCLEAN’S PICTURES.
OPERA HOUSE, WEDNESDAY. On Wednesday evening, at the Opera House, Mr McLean presents the wonderful three-act Metro spectacle, “ Lest We Forget,” with Miss Rita Jolivet. the famous operatic star, depicting the thrilling adventures which she personally experienced. Mis Jolivet was in France when the war broke out, and was caught in the turmoil of the first advance of the German troops. • She was forced to perform most menial services for the Prussian officers and onlysaved her honour as by a miracle. She was sentenced to death, but escaped, finally reaching America. However, the call of her native country, France, urged her to'return and do all a woman could to help, and she sailed in the illfated “Lusitania” on that vessel’s last voyage. Tho terrors of that terrible act of outrage when the great liner was topedoed arc vividly depicted—“ what her eyes have scon yours shall sec.”
The programme also includes a clever comedy and the ever-interesting Gazette of latest happenings.
