OFFICIAL COUNT.

HOLLAND’S MAJORITY 118.

| Tho scrutiny of the rolls and count of I votes polled at the recent by-election , was completed by Mr. J. Melndoe last evening, and tho position now reveals Mr. Holland’s majority to he 148. Mr. Holland polled 2865 votes and Mr. Coates 2717, whilo 46 informal votes wore cast. There is included in the above return 103 absent voters permits of which 79 were in favour of Mr Coates and 24 for Mr. Holland. The final figures differ from the ones issued on polling day by seven which are spread ovcf the whole district. At the Rewanui Booth, where tho polling previously showed Coates 1, Holland 62, the offiiminl figures now are, Coates 2, Holland 61. I
