Definite news from Mackay is anxiously awaited. No certain town received the full force of the cyclone. The lighthouse at Flat Top was demolished, and practically all trains are stopped owing to wash-aways. The full force was felt at Rockhampton, where great damage was done, and the town is completely isolated, tbe flood waters being inches above the record, and it is still rising. A woman, two children, and three men were drowned'. The disturbance is now travelling west and it is feared that Clermont will again be flooded. All coastal shipping is sheltering. A NEW YEAR. LOAN. MELBOURNE, This Ray The Government are preparing the prospectus for the New Year Loan, issuing in a few weeks.' j
