THE SECTION WINNERS . The section winners were as follows : Section A.—Blaxall 4 wins, Jones 3, Spiller 3, Blank and Steven,son 2 each, Ring 1. Section B.—Renai 5 wins, Tomkies 4, Buck 3, Council 2. Macfarlane 1. Section C.—Campbell I, Baxter, Buchan and Benjamin 3 each, Ryan 1. Section D.—Blackwood and Nalder have 3 wins each with a game to go. Panckhurst and Wilson 2, Reynolds and Henderson 1. 'FHE FINALS. Tho order of play for the Rinks and Pairs section was drawn last evening. The Bowling green wore a very animated appearance all day yesterday. (The eight rinks were filled with players for the whole day from 8 a.m till 7 p.m. There was a large attendance of visitors .the fair sex being well repre sented. The play throughout the day was of a keen and well contested nature. There as some fine play and many of the games were in doubt until .the last bowl was played. The lady Vupporters added much to the enjoyment of the players by the manner in which they had arranged the supply of refreshments, which were available throughout the day and were daintily laid , out and arranged, a large member of ladies attending carefully to the large assemblage present, the visitors’ being highly pleased with the kind attention shown.
The programme of play as laid down was carried out without a hitch, and the'duties of the umpires was of a very
nominal nature being entirely, the deciding of one or two very close measures. Altogether a very enjoyable day was spent the fine day adding to the pleasure, but the hot sun at times made a lengthy stay on the. green somewhat trying.
TO-DAY’S PLAY. , The weather changed - during the night and rain began to fall about eight- o’clock a steady fall occurring for an hour. Owing to the visitors desiring to return homo this evening it was decided to proceed with the remairvjug games and a start was made about 9.30. o’clock, wftli a light- rnip falling and,making the green heavy. Gradually the rain, stopped and the play was continued, with the conditions underfoot, soft. PAIRS. Nalder 16 beat Blackwood lb, Naldor therefore won Section D. with four wins. RINK SEMI-FINAL. Greymouth—lV. Blair, T. Baxter, T. Tones and A. F. Spillcr (skip), 21 beat Hokitika —Thompson, Harrop, Ryan, Stevenson (skip), 13. SEMI FINALS.
