TWO GIRLS DROWNED

WANGANUI, January 23,

While bathing in the Wanganui l River, near Castlesliffe this afternoon 1 two girls, Phyllis Walker, 16 years, ; and Ida Becker, 10 years, were drown--1 -cd, Phyllis Walkjer could not ’ swim, and Ida Becker, who could swim i a little tried to save her; but both I sank together.
