NAVAL SERVICE RAIDS. |‘AUSTRALIAN <fc N. 7.. CABLE ASSOCIATION & KEUTER.] LONDON December 24. The Admiralty reports:—“Air craft last night dropped six tons of bombs on the St. Denis Wostrem, Mariakerke and Mostacker aerodromes. All the machines returned. STEFANSSON’S RET V RX. /Received This Dav at 12.25. p.m.) OTTAWA, Dec. 20th.

The Naval Department has learned that Stefansson has arrived at Fort Yukorig from the Arctic. Stefansson left Victoria, British Columbia, on 37Ui June 1912 to search for an unknown Arctic continent. A relief ship was wrecked and Stefansson lived with the Eskimos.

Later word has arrived that he intend ed to make the northest passage eastward through .Melville Sound. There are indications that he has abandoned this plan owing to the force of breaking ice in 1917. throughout the Arctic. Fort Yukong is in Alaska, inside the Arctic circle.
