PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY.

DUNEDIN November 27. It was reported at the Presbyterian Assembly to-day that the Sustenation Fund dividend last year amounted to £233, and authority was given for payments accordingly. The Rev. A. Whyte said that the total cost of the eight colleges of the church, in buildings and equipment, amounted to $134,000, »nd that the annual fees payable "hen they opened in February wduld come to £40,000 The Financial Committee reported on the income of the Assembly. The expenses fund was £4225, expenditure £2471, and the expenditure for the current year was estimated at £2700 The Rev. A. Cameron said the Theological College Fund had gone hack £lO5 during the year. It was decided to enjoin congregations to make an annual collection for the fund, uua defaulters to he asked for an explanation. It- was decided that £IOOO should lie voted for the Fraser bequest to the Auckland Presbyterian Social Service Assoeiaion. The Assembly decided to charge 5 per cent on the income of all funds for the Assembly fund, with the exception of the income from funds derived from debentures' and scholarship-funds: that the income from such institutions as orphanages, which passed through the treasurer’s hands, bn- for the disbursement of which lie is not responsible should be assessed at. 2} per cent, and that the, substantial fund in Hie the sites and building funds should he Otago Patriotic and Relief Funds and exempt from assessment. The Assembly decided to appoint a committee to consult the treasurer and guide him when advice is required, tl- - talcing 'financial responsibility. A commission of the Assembly was set up to deal with matters submitted to it by the Church Property Trustees and all matters arising out of the Trea'surersliip.

Tlio Revs. A. Cameron and W. J. Comrie Messrs Gow and Rose were appointed to the. Church Property Trustees.
