There are now 388,000 acres in England and Wales under cultivation in excess of 1916. The total is apart from the officially estimated decrease of 250,000 acres when the food production campaign was launched. The movement resulted in an equivalent of five weeks’ extra, breadstuff for tbe whole population. The figures do not include garden allotments.
