SMASHING THE AUSTRIANS.-
FURTHER ITALIAN ADVANCE (Received, This Dav at 8.60. a.m.) ROME August 23 The Italian offensive has forceu tne Austrians to obtain reinforcements from the Eastern front of twelve divisions, mainly recent arrivals from Galicia. After nine counter-attacks had been repulsed near K°rite the Italians took the offensive capturing an entire regiment. Another brigade assaulted Hills 2*ll and 247, afleast seven times. We prosonered thousands the following morning and proceeded to assault strong lines before Selo despite determined resistance. The enemy abandoned. jilmost the entire first line from the plateau to the sea, on a front of sixty kilometres. Prisoners are still coming in . -
