ANOTHER RAIDER DOWNED
(Received this day at 12.30 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 23.
The Admiralty reports that nava« aeroplanes attacked ten German Gotha machines in the vicinity of Ramsgate at a height of 11,000 feet. We shot down one, in addition to two already reported, and' chased the remainder oversea. FURTHER PARTICULARS. LONDON, Aug. 23, When the raiders were approaenmg Margate at a great altitude our gunfire opened upon them. Two fell headlong. An incessant battle in the air was continued for half an hour. In connection with the raid on the Yorkshire coast last night searchlights along the -Humber caught a Zeppelin .at a great height of two miles. Gunfire prevented the visitor from reaching its objective. It dropped a numnei ob bombs before disappearing. THE CASUALTIES. fAUSTRALIAN & N.Z.
