WELLINGTON, This Day. • The High Commissioner reports from London August 23rd. at 3.10. p.m. French official report states the total captures at Verdun are 7.640 prisoners counted including 186 officers, 600 of those beirtg wounded, twenty-four guns, 200 machine guns and nine guns destroyed.

(Received This Day at 10.15. a.m) LONDON, Aug. 23. The Germans are already pursuing the same policy regarding hospitals be- - hind the British front as the French front. They recently attacked at night three hospitals. It was evidently deliberate as the Germans attacked the % hospitals in succession, though we had occupied the same positions for two years. They bombed the first hospital and wounded three women nurses. At the second they killed a doctor and wounded three; and at the third killed nine German patients. A NAVAL RAID. (Received This Dav at 10.15. a m.) LONDON, Aug.. 23. The Admiralty Naval Air Service bombed yesterday morning Zeebrugge shipping and batteries, also Ghisteles aerodrome. The machines returned safely.
