LATE LOCALS.
It ia notified that the dressmakinff classes at the Technical School will be resumed on Tuesday nwet 2 p.m. At the Magistrate’s Courv this morning, before H. L. Michel, Esq., J.P., an offender was fined £1 and costa 10s for being drunk. We are informed by the local agent of tho Imperial Insurance Company that the statement in yesterday's report o fthe fire that the building was insured for £l5O in the Imperial Office was incorrect, the Company having no insurance whatever on the building. Charles Adler while working at stacking timber at the Te Kinga timber yard met with a serious accident just aftor lunch on Tuesday. The tier of timber fell on him and he was thrown over tho end of the skids and fell about ten feet, The unfortunate man received severe lacerations of the head. When picked up he was unconscious. He was removed to Mr. Noel Peat’s residence where Mr. Peat and his'wife rendered first aid until the Otira express arrived, when he was brought down to the Grey River Hospital, Mr. Peat accompanying him. At a late hour last night the man recovered consciousness, but the extent of the injuries is not known.
