JAPAN AND CHINA. WASHINGTON, June 17. There is much interest in the Japanese Note to America, stating it did not endorse America’s Not® to China, wherein Amerioa appealed for an adjustment of internal differences. Japan declined to take similar action.
Officials believe Jthat Japan’s attitude is based on a olaim to a paramount interest in China, but the note does not mention this.
Britain’s reply is similar to Japan’s.
