Officials anticipated that America's ship-building programme will more than equalise the entire submarinings. Mr Goetiias expects three million tons of steel ships vPjll bo constructed in eighteen months. It is estimated they will he able to complete 35 ships, each over 1(500 tons weekly.
American companies have agreed to furnish 800,000 tons of steel monthly. Tho only question is the capacity of the yards, which are- working day nnd night.
About a million tons of British shipping ordored, which aro contsructing in United States will voluntarily be transferred to America and placed at tho disposal of the Shipping Board. It is believed America will commandeer wooden ships.

LIBERTY LOAN. AVASHINGTON, June 17. The latest estimate of the Liberty loan is 2,900,000,000. Small applicants receive their nllottments but the two billion limit will not bo exceeded.
