On the Blockade.

The United Press Paris correspondent had an interview with Admiral Loc»z?, who said the German submarine blockade would never have succeeded if German trickines? had not inaugurated commercial submarines, ostensibly to carry merchandise, but in reality to supply war submarines with the necessaries to enable them to prolong their cruises.
A hundred ships have daily arrived untouched at French ports, just as before tbe blockade started.
The real motive is probably psychological, Germany thinking to reduce tha Allies morale, when they are unable to beat the Allied armies by brute strength. This kind of thing is worthless.
Lloyd George’s Appeal

Hon Lloyd sGecrge, in a letter to Reverand Shakespeare appeals to secure the organised co-operation of the Free Churches in food economy and increased production campaigns. He says that spaed is essential, because if we miss the soring season this year’s chance is gone.

The Prize Court disallowed E 14’s claim cabled on 29th January, on the ground it was nob proved the transport was a fighting unit of tbe Turkish fleet. Cunning Germans. New York, Fab 22 Count Bernstorff’s part; at Halifax, and are still being examined for contraband.
It appaars they have a singular love of gramaphone music and a tremendous stock of records were seized, because they contain rubber, and also y because it is quite possible some singer in United States may supplement touching descriptions in German of the movements of Allied warships to the setting of music,
Taking his Pyjamas

The search of Count Bernstorff’s party Bhows that each member supplied himself or herself with everything lacking in Germany, Hundreds of pairs of pyjamas were discovered, which are hksly to be confiscated in view of the necessity of preventing wool and cotton reaching Germany.
