Posit'on of First 0 vision Msn. Gisborne Jan 24 Arising out of a case before the Military Service Board to-day Captain Walker declared that it should be distinctly borne in mind that in case of contracts entered into since the passing of the Military Service Act by men liable to b 9 called np these men were liable to go into camp at any time. If men entered into a contract under such conditions they went into it with

eyes open and took the risk. No one should complain if a contract under these conditions was left uncompleted. Every man who was in the first division mast know that in the course of the next six or eight months he was bound to be called up. They would have to go into camp and take the consequent financial loss if any.

The chairman : We have to take all ths circumstances into consideration in giving a decision. We hope the Press will take notice of what Oapcain Walker has said in order that it may be disseminated among the public.
