Furlhar Festrictians. Opportunities for leaving New Z3&' land are to be futtber restricted by the Government. In referring to the I matter in Auckland on Monday in reply to an inquiry 'he Hon A. M. Myerr, Minister of Customs and Munitions and Acting Minister of Finance, said it was quite evident that, it was incumbent on the Government to very carefully consider ell future applications for permits to leave the country. This was specially so in view of the possibility thnt it might be necessary to organise tho whole of the man and woman power of the Dominion, cot k)nly for military but for industrial Hence persons of any ago, military or otherwise, would find it very difficult to obtain permi s to go away.
Mr Myeri added that it might also bßobserved in the interests of those responsible for tho upkeep of persrns residing in the Old Country that emigration to England would have to bo restricted.
