COMING-OF-AGE PARTY.
A very jolly party took place at the home- of Mrs. Pryde on Wednesday, to celebrate the coming-of-age of her daughter, Miss Edith Pryde. There were a few musical items, Mr. McFarlane and Mr. Madigan of Wellington contributing songs, and Misses Horlor and King a .pianoforte duet. Miss S. Hillen, a Napier friend came specially to be present at the party. There were several competitions, Miss McCawr winning tihe prize for "motor car" and" Miss Williamson coming first in another. T&eir trophies were novelties in the form of bouquets of sweets. Mr C. Pitt and Mrs Madigan bore off the "booby" prises. Dancing and games were also enjoyed, Mr. House being an . excellent M.O. The health of the guest of honour, which xwas proposed by the j Rev. J. MeOaw, was drunk with musical 'honouTs. Miss Pryde responded, and |Mr House, in a happy speech proposed the health of Mrs, and the Misses Pryde. Among those present were Mesdames Fowler, McFarlane, Seihneider, Haywood, Shepphard, Horlor, Thorpe, House, Hallse and the Misses Jennie and Winnie Pryde, Horlor, Hamilton, Pitt (Wellington), King (Wellington), O. and M. S-hepphard, Slater, Bertram, House, Thorpe, Teal and Williamson, and the Messrs Schneider, Fowler, Schneider, Haywood, McFaxlane, Bowers, Shepphard, HorSLor, Smith, Fergusson (2), Pitt (Wellington), Mawson (2), Madigan, King (Wellington), Robertson (2), Aekroyd, Davidson, Knutson, W. Pryde and Tilbury (2). At the "sit down" supper
the guests wore caps of blue and orange and the decorations were of balloons and crepe paper.
