HUTT VALLEY HARRIERS.

.. The above club held another of t»heir ever popular dances on Satur-day night in theHutt Park Pavilion. Some 80 couples were present, including, representatives of all the town clubs, and the opinion of all present was that the function was a great success. The hail was tastefully decorated witfh streamers and balloons with the club colours. Most prominent music was supplied by the Maori String Orchestra, and that their splendid playing was fully appreciated was evidenced by the number of encores; that they had to respond to. Several novelty events were held during the evening, namely: Spot (2), and Monte Carlo (2), and eaeih created great interest. The duties of M.C. were most capably carried out by Mr. J. Hutton. During t&e supper adjournment, a competition for a beautiful hand-painted cushion was held and after' a Very keen and interesting contest the winner proved to be Mr. B. X«ippitt. The supper arrangements were in the : hands of a very energetic ladies' comI'liriittee, and- they deserve much praise for the most capable manner in which they carried out their duties. In connection with these social functions great credit is duo to the club president, Mr. Hadley, for his untiring efforts, and all the members feel very much, indebted to him, for the manner In whid|h. he is looking after t&eir interests.
