KITCHEN TEA.
Miss C. Bertram, who is shortly to be married, was the guest of honour on Friday night at a kitchen tea/ at which the- members' of the Knox Young Women.'s Bible Class were hostesses. Mrs Bertram aeeom<panied. her daughter. The evening, which was held in the Bible Class-roam,-was a very jolly one, and the guest of the evening was the recipient of a great number of useful kitchen utensils. Games and competitions were entered into with zest, the prize for the ''Silhouette competition, (a bottle of bath salts) was presented to _Miss Bertram, as no one else had tproved worthy of it I Miss Bertram feelingly thanked her friends for their Mnd gifts and the happy evening they ■had all enjoyed^ and Eev. McGaiw tendered to Miss Btertram the best of good ■wishes from himself and all who were present. Many friends and former BiJble-class members from Wellington and suburbs were present. Enquiring,cMld: '.'Did you and daddy descend from gorillas, mummy?" Mother: "I didn't, darling." I suppose you will want me to give up my job, Henry, when we are married?" "How much do you earn at it?" '(Ten pounds a week." "That I isn. 't a jolb, tliat 7s a career. I ■wouidn 't want to interfere with your career, darling."
