GREAT ORGAN RECITAL.

"Some to Church repair not for doctrine, but the music there. " —Pope!

Hundreds of people will respond next Monday evening to the .invitation extended by the Lower Hutt -"-Methodist Ohoir to hear Mr, E. Douglas Taytfer, Fellow of the Royal College of Organists, and Associate Royal College of Music, who is affording an opportunity most rare to hear an .< interpretation of some of the finest organ music written.

It will be of interest to 'our Teaders to lenow that wherever Mr. Tayler has given recitals crowded ,audiences have clamoured for more and more. Recently at a Northern Cathedral this Master of the Organ was responding to demands until as late as 11 p.m. The pieces to be played by Mr. Tayler include Toccata and Fuige .in I) .Minor (Bai^h)/ CBaTearalie, (WoSJo^teniho'lmi), Sonata in D Minor (Guilmant):

The Choir, wiieh will be augmented for the occasion, will render three pieces "As Torrents in Summer" (Elgar) v arid '' In . the. April Evening (Hugh. Robertson), bath unaccompanied and Mendelssohn's "Hear My Prayer"

made famoivs by the Temple GKureih. Choir Master, Lough. Mrs Frank, Tunley, soprano, will be the soloist.

We venture to suggest that the • Hutt Methodist Church' will not <hold the crowd that will want to hear Mr. Tayler, and it behoves out readers "who intend to be present to make certain of being -early* to secure a. seat. The Kecital commences at 8 o'clock sharp.

Mr. E. Douglas Tayler, F.8.C.0., A.R.C.M., supervisor of music in schools, may fee said. to be a Master Organist. He was awarded first place for all England in t>ho examination wheii he qualified for the degree of F.R.C.O. Apart from being;, an organist of merit Mr Tayler is also v a composer of note and many of his compositions have been rendered in-New Zealand.
